Are animals allowed on caravan sites?

Some sites do not allow certain animals on site. Those that do allow animals will generally ensure that they are on a leash.

Can i live onsite all year round?

All holiday parks will only have an opening period of 8months or so. Some sites do have a 12months opening period but all caravan owners on these sites will be subject to council tax and higher plot fees.

Can I let out my caravan on any site?

No. Some sites have a clear no sub-letting policy. You should check with the site rules before you decide to sub let.

What is a residential caravan site?

A residential caravan site is one that is open all year round and can often offer an address to each plot on site. All caravans on a residential site must pay council tax on their caravan.

Can I buy the plot for my caravan?

Unlikely. Most caravan sites will not offer for you to buy the plot but to rent the plot from the caravan owner.

How long can my static caravan stay on a site?

Every site has their own requirements on the age limits put on the caravans allowed on their site. You should check with the site owner before renting a plot from them if you believe your caravan could be kicked off before you are prepared to upgrade it.

Does a static caravan have to be a certain age to go on a caravan site?

Some sites do set limits as to the age of a caravan they will allow on site. Be sure to check with the site owner.

Can I have any size caravan on any plot?

No each plot is made for a certain size and built to very specific health and safety and fire regulations. Most sites wil be able to cater for most caravan sizes though.

How is the caravan connected to the services?

Each caravan siting will be dealt with by the site itself and shouldnt be of any consequence to a customer

Is there a lot of space around a caravan for verandahs and cars?

Most sites will allow eough room for a small verandah but different sites have different rules. Some disallow verandahs as they can block important routes through the site for when caravans need to be moved around.

Do I have to pay for council tax on my static caravan?

If you have your caravan on private land and use it all year round as a permanent residence you will need to pay council tax. Just as if you have your caravan on an all year round caravan park you will have to pay council tax for that caravan.
